Do you believe in the power of prayer?

Do you pray specifically for what you need and desire to have?

Will you wait on the Lord to provide you an answer with that prayer request?

I recently heard a prayer testimony that spoke to the depths of my heart calling me to pray more specifically for the needs of Women Living Well Ministries.  I want to share this prayer testimony, with hopes this story will impact your faith in God even more.

A young couple had just relocated to Dallas, Texas, and they moved into a one-bedroom apartment that had no air condition.

As you might assume the summers are probably very hot.  The young couple was on a tight budget.  They decided they would not tell anyone of their need, but agreed together to pray God would provide them with an air condition unit.  They faithfully prayed for this need and never got discouraged that God didn’t hear their prayer.  In fact, they had so much faith in God that they had great expectation and praise for how He was going to provide them with an air condition unit. That’s having great FAITH! Isn’t it? 

Well, summer came and went, months passed; yet they remained faithful to pray about this air condition unit. A full year had passed and spring approached again. Out of the blue, they received a phone call from a friend who asked if they could use an air condition unit which he no longer needed? As you might imagine, the young couple were thrilled to accept this air condition unit.  

They put their complete hope, trust, and belief in God that He would provide them with this need.  Then they watched with great expectation for God to answer their prayer.

Friends, we, too, are called to have such faith as this young couple.  God desires us to be dependent on Him for our every need.  Will you depend on God to provide you with all of your needs and desires? Will you wait for Him to provide in His timing?  Each one of us has needs and desires. I like to believe the desires that we have are given to us from God to increase our faith in Him alone.

 

I encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer daily; don’t give up or lose hope that He will provide for your needs and desires.  Press into Him daily, and watch with great expectancy with what He will do for you!  Our God is an awesome God!  There is nothing He cannot do! I often say to friends, “Is there anything that is impossible for God? NO!”
