Grace

How do you personally define God’s grace? Do you view God’s grace daily as a reminder with how God provides for you? Does His grace guide and direct your steps whether you walk through the valleys or when you are on the mountain top? Does His grace awaken you each morning to face yet another day? Did you know our Christian brothers and sisters in Africa wake each morning and call out to God, giving Him thanksgiving and praises for another day that they have been given on earth? How marvelous it is to view each day you’ve been given as a gift of God’s grace extended to you? I want to have this mindset daily, and if I am honest, each minute of the day.

Psalm 50:23 (The Passion Translation) states, The life that pleases me [God] is a life lived in the gratitude of grace, always choosing to walk with me [God] in what is right. This is the sacrifice I desire from you. If you do this, more of my salvation will unfold for you.

God’s grace to each one of us is truly a free unmerited gift. He asks us only to put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ as the only sacrifice for our sins. Imagine a love so great and indescribable that someone will give their life for you as a pardon for your wrongs. Jesus’ death and resurrection is the complete expression of God’s grace!

Yet, even when we receive His gift of grace, it’s extremely difficult to express this unmerited grace towards others, especially those who don’t dress, talk, live, and vote the same way we do. This fallen world makes it difficult and we do fall short in extending this grace.

By the same grace that rescued us, He shows us through reading His Word and seeking Him in prayer how to extend this grace towards others. Ask Him to strengthen you and show you how to reach out to others, especially during a holiday season.

Do you find it easier to extend grace towards those who are friends and colleagues? Yet at times, we find it challenging to extend this same grace to those in our family or friends who may have hurt, upset, or frustrated us. We live in a fallen world and we all sin against one another on this side of eternity, until we are called home to be with God and Jesus in heaven.

We are still under construction as God grooms, redeems, and transforms us to be more like Jesus. We must continue to put our faith and trust in Him alone. We are called to remain strong and courageous, not knowing how things will proceed forward. The one fact we know is that Christ Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, and He will one day return again. As we continue to press more into Him, He will show each of us how to exhibit God’s grace towards others around us. God has always wanted to be our God, and for us to be His people, His children set apart from the rest of the world.

John 13:35 (The Passion Translation) reminds us, For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.

We live in unprecedented times, and we never imagined we would see what’s happening and unfolding before us. Many Christians believe it’s getting closer to end times, and I agree. God continues sit on His throne and He sees and hears everything. He is sovereign overall and continues to hold His children securely in the palm of His hand. We must remember that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Jesus Christ remains our Cornerstone, our ultimate and only Savior. One day we will have the awesome opportunity to live with Him forever in Heaven. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Amen, and AMEN!

Blessings of His Grace,
